Topic 04
Police
Encounters with security and police inside public health facilities.
Public health buildings are also workplaces, and they have guards and, at times, police presence. When a patient insists on a written answer, the disagreement can move from a medical question to a security question very quickly.
This topic describes such moments: who was called, what was said, and how a request for a document was treated as a disturbance rather than as an administrative act.
It raises a question worth studying rather than shouting about: what is the correct procedure when an elderly, disabled patient asks for something in writing, and how should security be involved, if at all?
